DIG THE GIG Christchurch 2026 Final 

Rocked the Garden City last Wednesday night.

Seven of our best Garden City tertiary bands came and they all conquered. 

The DTG Ring of Rock N' Roll was on fire - it was a blazing inferno! 

DTG House Band CON CARNE warmed up the PA as they have been doing for the past six years - front man Mark Dills Dillion won the MVP!

Minerva kicked the night off in sensational style - loud and powerful, delicate and overwhelming! 

CRISIS stoked the fire and poured cold water over the hot coals - intense precision musicianship at it’s finest!

Equilibrium grabbed their moment effortlessly and poured love all over the place! One has to wonder what these guys would be like if they had a singer? A magical masterpiece!

King Tides are leaders, they stood strong and delivered one of the best sets of the comp - cool, calm and courageous! 

Sweet Pea had the crowd in the palm of their creative hands - Olivia and the band had another blinder, its hard to fathom that this was their second show! As good as it gets! 

The Perfect Gun were always going to steal the show - when I last counted their was twenty plus humans on the stage! A baptism of fire! 

Kenring made a memory, they stole a piece of time and the rest as they say is HISTORY! Congrats on winning DTG CHCH 2026 - a thrilling rock performance that will be etched in our minds for some time.

Huge thanks to Lauren Marshall for steering the ship over four heats and the final - it's not and easy job, you have to be up, you have to connect and you have stay strong and deliver - 10 out 10 young lady!

I get asked this question often "why are you trying to save and promote our NZ tertiary music scene”? 

If you were lucky enough to be in that venue last Wednesday night the answer was floating in that very special place "the distance between the BAND and it’s AUDIENCE"

Hopefully we will see all you good souls again soon - don't go changing.
