DETOUR ARE BACK ON TRACK

DTG UC Heat 4 Wednesday June 11th.

Once again this city never ceases to amaze us - On a brutally cold night A Rolling Stone was a furnace, the heat was overpowering, the FANS who have created this wonderful movement were in control of the dial and man did they keep cranking it up! 

DTG House Band Lounge Dogs were the bomb! These cats have been around, they know how to write good songs and play - you may not have heard of them yet but that is about to change - thanks a million! 

Toby & Jake made their way to the stage and to honest were in the deep in from the get go - ice-baths are a bit of a buzz word nowadays and going from the flames to the ice nearly destroyed them! But then again you have to admire their tenacity and courage to kick the night off in front of a full house for one of the best DTG heats in the history of movement.

Burning Monk were exceptional - heavy metal masters that cleared the pipes, washed away the rust and gave the FANS a shot of adrenaline right through the heart! It's risky business having this kind of power but thats how these guys roll - well played! 

Crimson Echoes continued fuelling the fire - super female duo of Kat & Montana who both played keys and sung their hearts out won the FANS over instantly - great to see Cam Giddens laying down some heavy bass - the band was tight as a nuns nasty and the riffs insane!

Detour arrived with a new look, a new sound, a new crowd and the rest as they say is history! Congrats on winning the heat and heading into the final on June 25th.

Rapids were a big highlight of the evening - bands like this are telling us and showing us that Rock N’ Roll is in good hands here in the Garden City - for now we can stay calm and rest easy - thank you for the music! 

Swamp Meet have it all - they are coasters with a little swagger but its hard to beat a three piece rock n roll band that are happy to go off piste, loose it all and return to the main trail with a few scars to prove they journey well!

The DIG THE GIG UC 2025 Final will be held on Wednesday June 25th at A Rolling Stone - as all the finals in the past there will be queue’s out the door onto Colombo Street so please get to the venue at 7pm. There will be a DTG Party Bus leaving the UC campus provided by our awesome friends at RB Recruitment - standby for all details.
