DIG THE GIG Dunedin 2026 Heat Two shook the campus!
It was the first time in the history of DIG THE GIG (6 years +) that we have staged back 2 backs and I reckon we got it right - it felt pretty bloody good on and off the stage!
The bands felt good, the crowd felt good and the end results - FUCKING AMAZING!

Proboscis? kicked the night off in sublime form - a cool four piece that delivered a colourful mix of rock and country - nice work and don’t go changing!
Parallel Play are a musical carnival - an outstanding band that really showcased the depth of pure female talent that Dunedin keeps over delivering in the tertiary band scene. Shannon, Chelsea & Sophie’s vocals and harmonies cut like knife while the band played as tight as a nuns nasty! This was their debut show - congrats on making it through to the final with the second best DM reading!
The Croaks are a feel good five piece that formed in Sunny Nelson - alternative rock with a few gushing twists - well played gents - keep on keeping on!
Sunday Scaries are another new band on the scene - yes they are sleazy but they can belt out a bloody great tune!
Cleos hit the stage with power and purpose - it was clear from their first note that the night was going to be theirs - a bunch of cool cats that play folk music that bends into heavy rock with swirling melodies leaving the crowd wonderfully exhausted with their sonic crescendos! A mix of Makers Mark & Tequila and we are getting close! Congrats on winning heat two - see you on finals day.
Liquid Lucy closed the night out - what a fucking great band! words can’t describe these guys - you just gotta see them in the flesh - and when you do it will be worth every cent!
Thanks to our premium sponsor The Wright Family Foundation - we cant do this without you guys - the road is long and it's a thin thin line!
Thanks to our supporting sponsors - BEERS for the DTG Lager Kegs & Thunderdonk for the shots and Cowboy Hat Give-aways!
Lauren Marshall for another wonderful night on and off the stage!
Seren for capturing the moments in fine style!
Sam and his wonderful partner for the sound and epic light show!
See all you good souls at the Grand Finale on October 8th at UBAR
It's only rock n roll but we love!
